Age Limits for The Professional Freelance Journalism Course

Are you under the age of 16?

If you are not 16 years or older, please seek permission to have our course information sent to a parent or guardian’s email address.

There is an age requirement to undertake The Professional Freelance Journalism Course, as it is intensely focused on finding work as a freelance journalist and this is a most difficult accomplishment at a young age.

Students under the age of 16 are able to undertake this online freelance journalism course, but only with the explicit parent or guardian permission and supervision. It is mutually agreed between the student and the parent or guardian that the student is undertaking the course for the learning aspect only.

Further to the above, there are no academic prerequisites for the course.

Our requirements are simple and straightforward:

  • An interest in writing
  • A little flair
  • The willingness to learn

If you have these qualities, the British College of Journalism will provide you with the knowledge and skills to ensure your success.
