It’s all about having confidence, and when I graduated, I was confident enough to approach any editor with my article ideas.

When I first enrolled with the British College of Journalism, I was a little apprehensive as we all tend to be with things that are new to us. But there was no need to worry. The unhurried step by step approach of the course was perfect for me.

My tutor was highly professional and always on hand with an abundance of tips, hints and invaluable advice. The administrators couldn’t have been more efficient and friendly.  They really do make you feel that you are part of a winning team.

I truly enjoyed my studies and found myself eagerly anticipating the arrival of the tutorials and assignments.

At the end of the course, I had certainly learned a thing or two, even though I have written books and articles before (under the pen name of Bill Carson).  I found I had benefited greatly from the lessons.  It’s all about having confidence, and when I graduated, I was confident enough to approach any editor with my article ideas.

I kept plugging away until I made the breakthrough and had my first article accepted. It was published by Historic UK Magazine.

Having completed this course reminds me that I am a freelance journalist, and I can prove it.
