Since completing the course, I have expanded my online portfolio of publications, taking in TV and entertainment as well as lifestyle. There are so many new openings out there, it’s just a matter of searching.

I had dabbled in what I would call online ‘journalism’ before I took the course, but I have to admit, The Professional Freelance Journalism Course enabled me to look at my previous work in a whole new light. The course was very absorbing, showing me ways to improve as well as guiding me in areas I was lacking. It was also very easy to understand and follow from start to finish.

I found the pace ideal as you proceed at your own speed, knowing there is a recognized qualification at the end. This, in itself, has opened up a number of new opportunities which I am finding very rewarding. The course has given me more confidence to follow up more opportunities in areas I wouldn’t have considered before.

I am very thankful to my tutor who always responded quickly following each assignment and she always gave me sound advice and direction.

Since completing the course, I have expanded my online portfolio of publications, taking in TV and entertainment as well as lifestyle. There are so many new openings out there, it’s just a matter of searching.

My most recent venture has been to apply for The Inquisitr – an online citizen journalism publication. Their application process involved writing a short piece (350-450 words) from a set list. Prior to the course I would have struggled, but with the knowledge and confidence I have gained I was able to complete it successfully and quickly.

I am now searching out even more possibilities to add to my growing portfolio of publications. In the future, I may even consider undertaking more courses.

Anyone who is considering a career in journalism, be that print or online, I would thoroughly recommend the course as it will not only improve your output but also give you some valuable inside information.
