The Power of a To-Do List: How to Stay Organized and Productive During a Busy Work Week

Sometimes, you may have a fairly quiet couple of weeks workwise and then, as so often happens, it goes the other way, and you’ve gone too much on. It’s important to develop a strategy to keep you calm in busy times!

You may have two features with short deadlines plus some copywriting and a few other commitments, including a full-day meeting on Friday. Oh, and you remember there’s a bank holiday on Monday too. It’s fair to say you can easily wake up in a bit of a panic when you have times like this.

So, a great strategy in these situations is to make a list. A very detailed, day-by-day list of what you need to achieve in the week. And we mean specific, rather than “find case study”, write “contact xx press office”, “email yy”, and “Twitter shout out”.  Be sure to also add the small but important jobs like invoicing, which are easy to overlook.

It can make you feel much more in control and gives you the satisfaction of being able to tick lots of things off. It will reassure you that you will get everything done and that nothing will be forgotten.

Think about getting yourself a diary for this; one with a blank page facing the diary page is very useful and something we would recommend.
