It’s very easy these days to rely on your computer, phone or tablet for everything – to take notes, mark appointments and set reminders, for example.
But there are still some things for which good old-fashioned pen and paper are better. For instance, a traditional desk diary is great for keeping track of deadlines. We suggest you leave it open in a prominent position on your desk so there is no way you can miss anything - you’ve written it down in the one place and can easily keep track of it. It’s just not as visible if you put it on your phone calendar or add it to a notes section.
It can also be of great benefit to physically write down your to-do list. There are many apps for this and we’ve tried several of them but they don’t work for most of us as a rule. There’s nothing like the satisfaction of grabbing a pen and crossing a task out with a flourish when you’ve completed it.
